Electric bills soar $300 in 5 years - Electric bills have skyrocketed in the past five years, a sharp reversal from a quarter-century when Americans enjoyed stable power bills even as they used more electricity.

Need to add some items:  1)  The taxes taken from taxpayers and turned over to wind and solar generators in the form of PTCs and/or cash grants;  2)  The taxes taken from taxpayers to cover loan guarantees to wind and solar manufacturers and developers, which the government may lose out on depending upon the survival of the companies.

Rates will increase further to cover the costs of long distance transmission lines that will average fractional usage of the capacity for which they are built.
