Focus on Energy changes opposed - A coalition of more than 120 businesses on Wednesday asked Gov. Scott Walker to veto changes to the state Focus on Energy program.

The title kind of says it all.  Are these businesses looking to make a gain at taxpayer expense?  "...for the jobs..." is beginning to remind me of the old "...for the children..." mantra that was used to justify federal expenditures of taxpayer money for programs to advance the education of children whose parent(s) could not be bothered to get involved in making sure the kids did their school work.

I remember watching one TV news program showing "weatherizing" of a house using a taxpayer funded program that spent thousands of dollars per house.  The dude they showed doing some caulking work was caulking a section of window frame trim that had nothing to do with air intrusion into the house because the other side of the piece being caulked was next to the exterior of the sash.  What a crock!

These governmental programs are fraught with dubious activities of even more dubious benefit and thus waste more money than they save.  They are more like an entitlement program than an incentive program.
