Washington Co-op Capitalizes on Low Solar Costs - Greg Watson has promoted solar power around the world for years.

"I work in green [technology] for an international development bank, [and] I'm always saying, 'Look, the costs are down, there are all these incentives, really it makes economic sense for you,'" he says, describing how he convinces others to go solar.

This attitude of "take advantage" is the main culprit in the entire national debt.  Take advantage of federal and state tax credits and rebates.  Take advantage of net metering so one does not pay for one's share of the cost of building and maintaining the T&D system.  These programs are also interfering with the electrical markets thereby making investors leery of building new fossil and nuclear facilities--a factor which contributes to the continued operation of older, less efficient coal and gas fired plants resulting in wasted fuel, unnecessary quantities of CO2 being emitted and unnecessary quantities of toxic pollutants being emitted.
