Intelligent Electrical System - a Prerequisite to Smart Grid - Transmission and distribution systems across most parts of the sphere are still operating on network designs and control philosophies that are decades old. I have been in this utility business for last forty years

The concept of intelligent grid matured while I was in Mozambique with the utility there and Swed power were working along with me

In fact I wrote out the remote metering project with assistance from South Africa *Eskom Engineers _ in 2003 on which essentially these projects started here, Engineerrs from Banglore also collaborated with me.

Let me tell you intelligent grid is bigger than smart grid.

You can look up some journals on cybernatics of power systems and issue will be clear.

Intelligent grid means info about maintainence and more so cheapest way to supply energy to a consumer -it includes supply side management. .

There is a huge demand for the softwares for intelligent grid

For more than d ecade I was Head of planning and projects in a foreign utility and supervised one of the erliest computerisation of utility any where

Till date I know only ESKOM or Swed [pwer is capable of making it . In fact I believe Swed power has a center working on it.

I do know that this knowledge is with the uility engineers and so I do not  blame you for this.

THis  enbles to save uo to 6-7  %of energy losses which if you look from national perspective is a huge saving.
