Beyond NERC CIP: The Changing Horizon of Grid Security - No longer freshly minted, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation -- Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC-CIP) standards, which have been in place now for a year, brought the industry a set of basic cyber-security must-haves.

We should not confuse between smart grid and intelligent grid.Smart grid is what is called DSM of old.

Intelligent grid is combined DSM and supply side management. This matter has been left out of the security issues which  is far more important. :Look at the national grids.

The part of large energy transactions across this massive grid.Is it to be ignored?

Cyber security requires a host of tecnologies which are not yet mature as far as grids are concerned. Only utility engineers can do justice to this aspect. They have handled these operation for decades.

Time to wake up now!
