Smart grid are being concieved primarilty for two reasons- Demand side management and supply side effeciencies and reduction in Tand D losses.Using this technology the Tand d Losses can be lowered to 7% from Existing 30 % .

How - use of Simulation technologies and building new links and feeders.

Some simple calculations will ptrove this point.

So all those who are still debating need to refresh their enggineering knowledge.

In short read up theory of transportation and apply it to Electrical engg.

I think that basically the name of "smart grid" itself is misleading. At the beginning I thought that smart grid is about the automatic monitoring of the grid parameters rather than grid connectivity solutions with non-conventional energy sources.
