Its quite interesting to see the development of renewable energy sources in India, although country is only a minor contributor to greenhouse gases compared to developed and industrialized economies.

However, this early enthusiasm shown by countries like ours becomes a reason for lopesided renewable development , which leads to non performing energy assets in near future, due to absence of any mature industry benchmarks!

Hence, there is an urgent need to analyse how the available resources can be most optimally utilized for development of really renewable energy infrastructure in countries like india!

with best wishes

member photo Actually rampant capacity addition through partly feasible technologies ,cripple the very support system designed to cater the overall power infrastructure ! Infrastructure addition, without focussed and futuristic utilization , results into already scarce capital getting tied up in non/partly performing assets.

member photo How it matters whether is developing countries or a developed one , if it contributes to green energy sources? Are you making a case that its only the responsibility of developed world to contain green house gases emmissions?

member photo Possibly developed coutries have emitted more than their share of GHGs, but the reality is that the same countries have also contributed to development of renewable energy technologies!even whatever technologies are being implemented in developing countries, they have only been supplied by the developed countries!

member photo I pray George Bush shall not claim that the weather abnormalities are due to the increasing consumption of renewable energy sources by India, like grain crisis!!!!!!

member photo Dear Sandeep! your apprehension can be a truth! Please take the case of renewable energy companies which produce renewable energy equipments and allied components e.g. turbine blades, tower material, generator windings, civil structures, transportation , excavations etc etc.All that takes lots of resources in conventional forms, lots of power is consumed which is mostly non-renewable type! If these equipments do not generate energy even to pay for the enrgy utilized for thei r creation then we will be moving towards carbon emission excess even while producing renewable energy assets! Then no doubt, Bush will have every right to be concerned!
