Octopus Investments has secured 54.4 million pounds of funding from two banks to refinance investments in six solar parks in Britain, Reuters reported Jan 10.
The British fund management company invests in solar projects on behalf of investors in some of its venture capital trusts, enterprise investment schemes and inheritance tax services. Octopus, in partnership with its in-house solar development company Lightsource, has invested more than 300 million pounds in solar energy since 2011.
Still, as an alternative energy source, power from a concentrated solar power plant can cost about 10 to 14 cents per kilowatt-hour, compared with about 4 cents per kilowatt-hour from a coal or natural gas power plant, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council. Electricity from small or medium-scale solar installations, such as those on homes or businesses, costs around 12 to 30 cents per kilowatt-hour, the NRDC reports.
There is a less-expensive, environmentally-friendly alternative source of electric energy – and it’s available now.
A Singapore energy company with a commitment to low-cost electricity has developed and perfected self-contained generators that can produce electric power for 3 cents per kilowatt-hour. No pollutants or CO2 emissions are released into the environment as a result of using NRGLab systems. This is a truly green technology.
The SH boxes utilize 12 components comprised of rare-earth metals, metal oxides, and industrial diamonds to produce electricity from environmental heat. At the moment, these components are relatively inexpensive on the international market, and the plants which produce them also operate at relatively low cost, in terms of both facilities and labor expenses.
The potential of NRGLab technology is virtually limitless, as are the resulting profits the company expects to produce for its investors.
