Where can I find information regarding locations where wind is adequate for generation? To start with, I am specifically interested in Frio County and Brewster County, Texas, where we have land.

Here are three links to get you started. However, be aware that there are more issues than simply generation potential. Transmission is also a big problem.

member photo If the wind plant is installed at small levels, like community or household level, then there should not be any transmission problem.
If induction generator is used, reactive power supply can be done through capacitors and hence there would be no need of grid.
