Dumb About Smart Meters

Some Texas residents are still convinced that smart meters are a vast government conspiracy to erode their constitutional rights and destroy their health.

The truth is that smart meters have been proven to have no ill-effects on health. They have countless advantages including enabling innovative electric plans such as prepaid electricity plans. Since smart meters can monitor usage in real time it allowing electricity providers to sell electricity before it’s used. This eliminates the chance of default, eliminates the need for deposits, and is a life saver for consumers with poor credit.

They also encourage conservation because people who have greater visibility into their electricity usage are likely to use less electricity.
