As electricity rates go up, natural gas' high prices, deregulation blamed - If you haven't locked in your electricity rate, expect to pay more for power this summer. Offers for retail electricity are up. Retail electric companies blame rising natural gas prices, since most of Texas' electricity comes from natural gas-fueled plants.

member photo I think that being offered a fixed rate and not wanting it seems irresponsible. If I controled the company I worked for and people didn't want a fixed rate and then the rates skyrocketed and they tried getting the fixed rate from us I'd tell them that they couldn't get it because they didn't want it when we offered it.
