Annual WWF Scorecard Ranks Canada Second-Last Among G8 Countries in Race Against Dangerous Climate Change - Canada and the US are at the back of the G8 pack in the race against irreversible climate change, according to the 2008 G8 Climate Scorecards released today by the conservation organization WWF and Allianz SE.

Better title:  "Canada ranked second best at avoiding dangerous expenditure race of mythical climate change movement !"

Yes, there are those in media, politics and business who have moved "beyond" the debate about global warming.  Thanks to validation from the charasmatic Al Gore, the herd is moving toward the cliff. While reality and good science will show that rising CO2 today is minor compared to many other periods in Earth's history.  And neither the rate of increase nor the concentrations in the past have preceded temperature spikes such as the conjecture sugests is occuring today.

O Canada !

member photo Yes - well done Canada for not succumbing to the influence of the lemming like followers of Mr. Gore. There is no data to support these claims except that doctored by the IPCC and any self respecting scientist would not associate with such nonsense. It is much more likely that the world is entering a new ice age and there is far greater evidence to support that theory....but no money to be made there.

member photo Agreed; IPCC is a bunch of superfluous PowerPoint and PDFs.... this is NOT:

Global warming (and cooling) seems to be a natural phenomenon; (possibly solar cycle driven) we seem to be on the cusp of the warming period, with an immenent Ice Age within the next 20,000 years (+/- 10k). In the meantime, it may behoove us to not side up with nature and stop heating things up any more than necessary.

Another point: if we burn up all our petroleum resources, there will be no raw materials to make plastics or composites.

People - stop thinking with your groin, and apply common sense with a healthy dose of statistcal analysis. After all, if it were not for analysis of variance and multi-linear regression of drill core data, we would have run out of petroleum resources 10 years ago!
