Friends,

Sarah Palin, in the eye blink of time ago when she was mere governor of a refrigerated state, agreed to write an article for EnergyBiz on her vision for developing a huge pipeline to bring natural gas from her state to the lower 48.

The article is in production and we will be bringing you snippets of it here one week from now. See you here, and then.

Teaser: the pipeline she is championing is billed as one of the largest infrastructure project ever. Both the McCain Palins and the Obama Bidens have big ideas for energy. Hold on. This will be the topic of the next decade for America and the world.

member photo The vision of Ms Palin is actually more than 20 years old - they were talking about it when I was writing my book on natural gas. On the basis of the information that I have seen, and the lack of genuine enthusiasm on the part of people who know about these things, this pipeline doesn't seem to make much economic sense. Of course, if the price of gas starts to move up again, then it might have to be looked at more carefully.
