The vision of Ms Palin is actually more than 20 years old - they were talking about it when I was writing my book on natural gas. On the basis of the information that I have seen, and the lack of genuine enthusiasm on the part of people who know about these things, this pipeline doesn't seem to make much economic sense. Of course, if the price of gas starts to move up again, then it might have to be looked at more carefully.
