In two weeks I head to LA to engage our state utility regulators.

I will be moderating a plenary session. Aubrey McClendon of Chesapeake Energy, Arun Majumdar, director of ARPA-e and Gregory Boyce, of Peabody kick things off by talking about the brave new worlds of natural gas, new emerging technologies and coal. We then will broaden the discussion with leaders in wind, solar and nuclear.

Separately, I will convene our EnergyBiz - www.energybiz.com - behind-closed doors annual confab with state utility regulators from across the nation to find out what is on their minds and which regulatory alligators they fear the most... That conversation will inform our converage of regulatory isuses in the coming 12 months. Highlights of our roundtable will be published in an upcoming issue of the magazine.
